Halibut & Rockfish Combo

Come ride along on the Patriot with Capt. Drew and spend your day looking for two of our favorite fish in the world!  This is our most popular trip and is productive all summer long.

Did you know that there are over 30 species of rockfish found in Alaskan waters?  We see 9 of these fairly regularity, but this is one of those trips where catching 10 different species of fish in a day happens often!

If you are the type that likes active fishing and the occasional bruiser halibut, this one is for you!

The Hal/Rock combo usually starts the day with a scenic boat ride to prime fishing grounds, often around the Chugach Islands or Barren Islands if weather permits.  Usually travel time is from 1.5-2.5 hours one way to get to our first spot.  We'll spend most of the morning looking for large-sized halibut, before breaking off late morning to go find rockfish, and the occasional lingcod.  They are a voracious biter and so fun to catch!  Afterward the plan is usually to get back hunting for halibut to round out the day!
